Digital Millenium Copyright Act

Bitzi will respond appropriately to notifications of alleged infringement which comply with all the requirements of Section 512 of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Notifications

Section 512 (c)(3)(A)(iii) requires "[i]dentification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate the material." Alternatively, section 512 (d) (3) requires "identification of the reference or link, to material or activity claimed to be infringing, that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit the service provider to locate that reference or link."

To avoid the risk of confusion, we ask that in addition to any plain-language description of the location(s) of claimed infringement, you provide illustrations (such as printouts) of the relevant Bitzi materials with the specific words, phrases, numbers, codes, or graphics that are alleged to infringe clearly marked (for example, stricken-through).

Bitzi's policy is to publicly document all notifications of claimed infringement which cause us to take action. Copies of your notification may also be forwarded to third parties for review, comment, or publication.

Counter Notifications

Material in the Bitzi catalog is contributed and collaboratively reviewed by volunteers from around the world. These users typically have no formal affiliation with Bitzi other than visiting our website and possibly registering a user account, and we do not necessarily have reliable contact info for individual contributors.

When user contributions are the subject of the DMCA notification, we will make a reasonable effort to contact the contributor(s) to give them an opportunity to make a DMCA Section 512 (g) (2)-(3) counter notification.
